My name is Carlijn van der Valk, and I am the General Manager of Van der Valk Hotel Gorinchem. I proudly manage this new Van der Valk establishment, which brings an incredible and exciting challenge.

The Team

We have already assembled an enthusiastic top team. Together, we can't wait to start working in this brand-new establishment and pampering our guests. Although we have formed quite a complete team, we are always looking for ambitious new colleagues to join our friendly team.

Green Hotel

Responsible entrepreneurship and sustainability are of paramount importance to us. We are proud to be the most sustainable hotel within our group.

Our hotel is completely gas-free. In its place, we use heat pumps. We also have solar panels, combined heat and power generation, and cold and heat storage, among other sustainable practices. We even have our own BioTransformer to process the bio-waste we produce. We filter the output, leaving you with green methane for heating, cooking, or converting into electricity for immediate and sustainable use. Currently, our hotel is still under construction, and we do not yet possess this certification, but upon completion of the building, we will strive for the Green Key certification (GOLD).

Furthermore, we offer guests the option to choose the "green" way. For example, we encourage guests staying longer than one night to skip interim room cleaning to save water and energy.

We extend our green commitment to the smallest details, such as reducing paper usage, using sustainable menus, and minimizing plastic packaging.
